Teens as Teachers is a great program for teens ages 13 and older who are looking to develop their leadership skills.  Start in early June getting trained in hands-on curriculum and then join with other teens to co-teach those lessons at a variety of summer day camps to younger children.  Look here for Teens As Teachers Training Information

Summer Camps, Programs and Workshop for ages 8 and older are being offered in a lot of different areas - horses, arts, outdoor adventure, drama and sewing!  Look here for summer programs offered in Rock Island County.

In 4-H, youth are the leaders. They're learning, teaching, serving their communities and gaining skills for the future—and having fun doing it! Given the right opportunities, they will be the ones to make our world a better place and create a positive impact. What if you were one of them?

Rock Island County 4-H has dozens of clubs youth and teens can join. Clubs meet on a regular basis in cities and towns across the county throughout the year. There are Community Clubs in Andalusia, Buffalo Prairie, Coal Valley, East Moline, Edgington, Illinois City, Milan, Port Byron, Rock Island, Sherrard, Silvis, and Taylor Ridge. Plus you can also start your own club! 4-H Clubs can be as small as 5 members meeting in a neighbor's home. At 4-H Club meetings members elect officers, share projects, give demonstrations, go on special outings, do community service projects, make crafts, share snacks, and have a great time meeting new friends.

You can also become a 4-H SPIN Club member.

A SPIN club is a Special Interest Club sponsored by 4-H. The club is formed when 5 or more youth want to gather to explore a specific topic. We have many different SPIN Clubs you can participate in such as Sewing, Shooting Sports, Lego Robotics, Goats, Rocketry, Cooking, Line Dancing, Rabbits, Honeybees, Video/Filmmaking, Disc Golf, Cardboard Reggata, Pizza-making, Leadership, Scrapbooking and more! They are started by volunteers who have a passion for a topic and want to share their knowledge with youth!
