About Us

The mission of the organization is to promote the professional interests of its members:

  • Strengthen and improve professional standards.
  • Provide opportunity for recognition of outstanding leadership and achievement.
  • Provide a medium for the exchange of ideas and methods.
  • Promote fellowship among its members.
  • Award financial support for professional study and/or professional improvement.
  • Communicate present and potential contribution of its members.
  • Seek support for programs that benefit families and individuals and enhance the profession.

Meetings

IEAFCS holds two membership meetings per year (fall and spring). The board consists of a president, president-elect,
vice-president for member resources, vice-president for awards/recognition, vice-president for professional development, vice-president for public affairs, secretary, treasurer, regional chairmen, and immediate past president.

Regional meeting dates are determined by each region.

Publications

The IEAFCS Newsletter is published four times per year – fall, winter, spring and summer. These newsletters contain reports from officers and committees, regional news, conference updates, and special features to keep professional IEAFCS members informed.

The Reporter is the official publication of the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS). Issues are published once per year.

The Communique is published periodically by NEAFCS (about 3-4 issues per year).
