NEAFCS Celebrates 75th Anniversary with Living Well Recipe/Reference Book

For those who read their emails this spring and summer, you may remember that there was a call for members to submit recipes and other bits of information to NEAFCS for their Living Well Book Project.

All of those deadlines have passed and it is time to order your own personal copy of the book. But why would I buy it - you might ask? There are lots of recipes including state recipes from all affiliates who submitted them (we sent in the horseshoe sandwich) plus lots of other recipes from members across the nation.

In addition to recipes, the book contains information on food preparation, food safety, care of textiles, home safety, etiquette, and heritage pages. Our National Officers are excited about the response they received when they asked for recipes.

The cost of the book will be $25 per book. Illinois Affiliate treasurer, Susan Taylor has agreed to take orders for the book. We do know that the deadline for affiliates to order quantities of the book is October 15, so we are setting October 1, 2009 as the deadline for you to get your order to Susan. The books will be distributed sometime after December 1, 2009 - so you may not get them in time for Christmas gifts if that was your thought.

An upside to ordering books from our Illinois Affiliate is that we make about $70 per box of books. If you choose to order your book from the company, the retail price is $29.95 plus shipping - so you are saving some money, too.

Order forms will be available through regional chairs, email, and on the website. Don't miss out on your chance to have a copy of our association's Living Well Book!
