Membership Responsibilities

Members will:

  • Actively support and participate in regional, state and national activities.

Association Regional Chairs will:

  • Serve as a liaison between regional members and the IEAFCS board.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled business meetings:
    • Report to members in the region on IEAFCS board actions
    • Present state committee reports
    • Relay concerns of members to the IEAFCS board
    • Sponsor regional activities
    • Assume responsibility for submitting news to the IEAFCS Newsletter editors.
  • Provide for professional improvement opportunities for professional members in the region.
  • Encourage members by recognizing them for program efforts and supporting their participation in IEAFCS and University of Illinois Extension awards programs.

Committee Chairperson Position Description

  • Coordinate committee activities with appropriate IEAFCS program of work or board officer.
  • Provide leadership for committee members in setting specific attainable short and long range goals for the year, and involve committee members in helping achieve these goals.
  • Establish at least two meeting dates during the year and meet with appointed committee members to accomplish the goals for the committee.
  • Maintain a record of the committee meetings and activities which will be passed along to the next chairperson.
  • Present written and verbal reports to the entire membership at the spring and Annual meetings and to the IEAFCS Board whenever necessary.

Committee chairpersons, other than officers, are recognized for their leadership, but are not voting members of the board.

IEAFCS committees are to be appointed by the President-Elect with the approval of the Executive Board. The committee appointments are to be presented at the fall Executive Board Meeting for Board approval.
