Member Recognition Committee
- Establish guidelines for program recognition to members.
- Recognition will be given for:
- Achievement in Service (ASA)
- Distinguished Service Award (DSA)
- Meritorious Service Award (MSA)
- 25 Year Service Award
- Air Force Recruiting Salute Award
- USDA/Army 4-H Youth Development Award
- Other State Award Categories
- Submit Service Awards, Air Force and UDSA/Army Award recipient nominations and winning Specialty and Communicator state entries to the NAE4-HA.
- Responsible for handling state judging of all awards accept Professional Development Award applications.
- Make presentations to award recipients at fall membership meeting.
- Purchase gifts for the DSA and 25 Year Service Award recipients.
Professional Development Committee
- Responsible for encouraging IEPYE members to continue their education.
- Keep the membership advised of professional improvement opportunities.
- Responsible for analyzing and sharing educational materials, techniques, and methods to assist members in the performance of their jobs as professionals.
- Create awareness of appropriate tools and procedures for evaluation use and provide connections to available resources.
- Solicit suggestions for in-service opportunities and submit them onto the U of Extension staff development committee.
- Identify programs to be included in the professional report for legislators and submit to the Public Relations and Information committee.
- Encourage the membership to subscribe to professional journals.
- Plan professional improvement programs for the spring and fall meetings as needed.
- Assist the regions in implementing professional improvement opportunities for members at the regional level.
- Encourage members to apply for NAE4-HA scholarships.
- Provide access to programs, professional development, and/or research for the IEPYE Association membership through newsletter articles and research briefs.
Public Relations & Information Committee
- Responsible for public relations and the distribution of information about the IEPYE and its membership within Illinois and the NAE4-HA.
- Design and set up an exhibit at state events and at other meetings upon request.
- Cooperate with IL JCEP to design a professional report pertaining to youth development program impacts to distribute to legislators, State Extension Advisory Committee Members, Illinois 4-H Foundation Board Members and other individuals and groups as identified
- Work with legislative/marketing committees of Extension Partners as needed.
- Plan professional enrichment opportunities designed to enhance the members' knowledge and skills pertaining to the legislative process.
- Update and maintain the IEPYE website.
- Ensure that an accurate record of our association history is maintained and stored in the University of Illinois Archives.
Advisory Committee
- Membership consists of Past Association Presidents.
- Serve in an advisory capacity to existing committees and the current IEPYE board.
- Responsible for strengthening communication links between experienced and new University of Illinois Extension professionals.
- Identify a slate of potential officers for the IEPYE board.
- Review the by-laws and policies of the IEPYE, making recommendations as necessary.
- Provide to the membership a current copy of the by-laws as requested by the IEPYE board.
- Submit resolutions for consideration to the NAE4-HA.
