University of Illinois Extension and Outreach Initiative

The current outreach initiative will provide funding to support work that fulfills the mission of our land-grant university, and offers an opportunity to work with University of Illinois Extension and other educational institutions. Funded projects will be required to provide information and updates to University of Illinois Extension.

Where do you send Pre-Proposals?

Pre-proposals should be sent to the email address: Extension-initiative@illinois.edu

What source of funds will be provided?

State General Revenue Funds (GRF) will be provided.

How long is the funding period?

Two years: July 1, 2014 — June 30, 2016.

How will funding be allocated?

Funding will be allocated by the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) to recipient units on an annual basis contingent upon progress.

How will fringe benefits, indirect costs, and tuition reimbursement be handled?

These costs are not assessed on the type of funds being provided (GRF).

When will the RFP for full proposals be available?

The RFP will be available after the pre-proposal review process and will be provided to those selected to submit a full proposal. The RFP will include detailed requirements and expectations of the project.

Can teams include faculty and staff members from different units?

Yes, interdisciplinary collaborations are encouraged.

Can faculty summer salary be included in the budget?

Yes. However, summer salary is limited to one month per principal investigator per year.

Will written feedback be provided regarding unsuccessful proposals?

No, reviewers will not provide a formal written critique of unsuccessful proposals.
