Organic Weed and Pest Control Workshop presented by U of I Extension

Rockford, Ill., --The University of Illinois Extension—Winnebago County will be hosting a workshop on how to control weeds and pests sustainably and organically. The workshop will be at U of I Extension-Winnebago County, 1925 South Meridian Road, Rockford on Thursday, March 11 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Bill Lindenmier, U of I Extension Crop Systems Educator, will be presenting. This very informative workshop will help participants prepare for the growing season.

Topics covered include organic history overview, soil preparation including fertility, composting and mulching. Other topics will also cover innovative and mechanical weed control, garden layout and insect control.
