Summer Workshop Leaders Needed

Anyone (teen or adult) interested in teaching a workshop this summer should contact Linda Fitzgerald. Training is available and this is an excellent opportunity to gain leadership experience. Workshops are taught by the youth with Linda attending as a helper or if additional discipline is needed.

If you have an idea that can be taught to small groups of youngsters ages 8-15 in about an hour, contact Linda. If you want to instruct a class but you don't have an idea, she will help you come up with one. Any 4-H'er or leader that has a project area that they would like to see a workshop offered in should also contact Linda.

Even though it is only March we need to start planning these summer programs now. So please respond soon.

Notes from Mary Ann's Desk

It is March already! Will it come in like a lion or a lamb? With the snow now disappearing I hope it comes in as a lamb this year.

After talking to several 4-H Clubs and 4-H members at various functions, I have discovered that not many 4-H projects have been worked on. Do not forget to work on your 4-H projects, there are only five months until the fair and much work to be done. At the New Family Orientation I challenged the new 4-H members to work on one activity from each of their project books within the next two weeks, now I would like to challenge you to do the same. I would welcome every 4-H member to take my challenge. After completing the challenge call the office to tell me what activities you did. I would also like you to tell your club members about what you have learned while doing the activities. Do You Take My Challenge?

As you do those activates in your project books remember to also keep good records of what you have done. Did you attend a workshop? Have you received an award in 4-H, school, church and other organization? Were you on a committee at your 4-H club or at school? Have you done a Community Service project in 4-H, school or on your own? Did you participate in the Bowl-a Thon on February 15? (This is Community Service.) It is my suggestion that you get a notebook of some type to write down as much information as possible. Keep this notebook in a safe place where you and your family all know where it is. The more you write down now, the easier it will be to do those records in August and September.

Check out this newsletter for information about upcoming 4-H events and the 4-H show beginning July 28.
