First Japanese Beetles of 2011 Sighted

The first Japanese beetles of the season were captured in a pheromone trap on June 16 north of Lincoln.
This is probably good news for corn, with silking being a ways off. Soybeans could be at risk in some locations, particularly around farmsteads from early feeding.
