The Sangamon County 4-H Foundation will be sponsoring the Sangamon County Luke J Gaule Memorial 4-H Livestock Sale again this year. The sale will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 10 at the Sangamon County Fair Grounds in New Berlin. Please read the rules in the showbook carefully. Rules will be enforced. Here are just a few reminders: **We are allowing any livestock exhibited at the show to be eligible for sale at the auction. (Rule #6) **Due to 4-H members keeping auction animals, the market value will no longer be used in the financial formula. For example, if Chad sells his steer for $2,500, 10% ($250) will be donated for scholarship and Chad will be paid the remaining $2,250. (Rule #9) ** A member must attend a minimum of three (3) local 4-H Club meetings/activities. ** Sale participants must complete and turn in a 4-H Livestock Record Sheet at show check-in, for each species they may want to sell in the auction. Copies of the record sheets should be provided to the Livestock Sale Clerk the day of the sale. ** Sign-up for the sale will be held when the animals are weighed-in at the show. The 4-H member, at that time, informs the weigh-in committee whether or not the animal(s) will be sold. ** Sellers must complete a Seller’s Buyer Information Form and turn it in to the Livestock Sale Clerk the evening of the Sale. Please DO NOT use a separate paper and staple it to this form. That gets very confusing for the clerks. A copy is enclosed, and copies will also be on hand at the 4-H Show Office during the Show. ** Out of respect for the buyers, no livestock will be allowed to be loaded or leave during the livestock sale. Exhibitors that leave early will forfeit their premium from the sale. Please direct any questions to the Sangamon County 4-H Foundation, Ethan Krone, President,, or 217-899-8979.
