Livingston, McLean, and Woodford Master Gardeners

Unit 12 Award Recipients-2017

Each year, Master Gardeners across the state are recognized at the State Master Gardener Conference for their superior contributions. These individuals are nominated by their unit leaders and/or local Master Gardener coordinator for the leadership and service they provide to Master Gardener programs.

This year, seven Unit 12 Master Gardeners received the State Outstanding Master Gardener Award which recognizes those who have played a leadership role, shown initiative in generating new projects, and have completed over 180 hours of service. Congratulations to McLean County Master Gardeners Tracy B., Carolyn E., Tudy S., Pat W., Bob W., and Rose Y., and Woodford County Master Gardener Nancy C., and Livingston County Master Gardener Sandy K. for receiving recognition in this category.

Four Unit 12 Master Gardeners who previously earned the State Outstanding Award were recognized as Sustained Excellence winners. Congratulations to McLean County Master Gardeners Kathy B., and Jim S., and Woodford County Master Gardener Jack P., and Livingston County Master Gardener Dee W. for receiving recognition in this category.They have been active Master Gardeners for at least four years, have completed 300 volunteer hours since receiving the State Outstanding level and have demonstrated continuing leadership and inauguration of new projects.

The Teamwork Award was established to honor projects which have truly made a difference to the community or Extension unit. One projects from Unit 12 received the award this year- Healing Gardens at Community Cancer in McLean County.
