McLean County 4-H Fair

McLean County 4-H Fair

McLean County Fair Royalty

Royalty 2016: King Eli Tobin (Linden Lead'em 4-H Club) and Queen Sarah Widener (Homespun and MetalCow Robotics 4-H Club). These representatives for McLean County 4-H promoted 4-H through appearances in ten parades in 2016-2017, including Danvers Days, Labor Day/Bloomington, ISU Homecoming, Minier Christmas Parade, Bloomington Christmas Parade, St. Patrick's Day Parade, Memorial Day/Bloomington, Towanda, and Chenoa 4th of July Parades.

The preliminary contest is at 7 p.m. on July 12 at the Extension Office Auditorium. It is an evening to meet other 4-H teens, talk one on one with the judges in an informal setting and enjoy some snacks. The candidate dinner is at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26, courtesy of Avanti's Restaurant. The court members chat in small groups with judges about what is going on in their lives. The final contest is during 4-H Night, Wednesday, August 2 at the 4-H Fair. Candidates will dress up, talk about their involvement in their school and community. Plus friends and family are there to cheer them on! Court responsibilities include: presenting ribbons to 4-H members, welcoming visitors to the fair, thanking exhibitors, and attending all fair entertainment and shows.
