The Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) is a voluntary conservation program that provides assistance to farmers who face threats to soil, water, air, and related natural resources on their land. Through EQIP, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) provides assistance to agricultural producers in a manner that will promote agricultural production and environmental quality as compatible goals, optimize environmental benefits, and help farmers to meet Federal, State, Tribal, and local environmental requirements. EQIP offers financial and technical help to assist eligible participants install or implement structural and management practices on eligible agricultural land. 4-H MEMORIAL CAMP

The public is being asked to please help restore the historic camp Dining Hall to a condition worthy of being a memorial and ensure that future generations have the opportunity to experience all that camp has to offer. Every dollar, big or small, makes a difference! Financial support of the Illinois 4-H Memorial Camp Remember CAMPaign is completely tax deductible as allowed by law.

4-H Science Extravaganza

Come enjoy the fun Thursday, February 4, 2010 the Macon County Extension Office will hold its first annual 4-H Science Extravaganza.  The event will begin at 5:00pm in the Illini Room.  4-H members will compete in a variety of science based stations throughout the evening.  No prior preparation is needed to compete in the Extravaganza.  Teams of three will compete in different challenges.  Clubs are encouraged to compete as a team, and interested individuals without a team will be matched up when they arrive.  Bill Million, State 4-H Specialist, will be leading the event.  Don't miss the fun!
