Summer 2012 Youth Cooking Schools will be held in Columbia and Waterloo. Youth Cooking School is open to all youth ages 9 -12, cost will be $55 per youth. Advanced Cooking School is open to youth ages 12-14 who have previously attended a cooking school program. Classes are limited to 20 youth.

Illini Summer Academies are back! June 24-27 at University of Illinois, Champaign Urbana. This four day event provides Illinois teens (ages 14-18) new opportunities to explore the University of Illinois campus; study potential careers or build leadership skills, and meet youth from across the state. There are 11 academies to choose from and fees vary according to the academy. The academies include: Aerospace Engineering; Agricultural & Biological Engineering; Art & Design; Bioengineering; Crop Sciences; Electrical & Computer Engineering; Landscape Design & Urban Planning; Leadership; Molecular & Cellular Biology; Physics; and Veterinary Medicine. Register early as it fills up quickly.
