Pamela Jacobs, County Director reports, "The educational outreach offices of the University of Illinois Extension Program in St. Clair and Madison County have relocated to a staff work space office in Collinsville at 1 Regency Plaza Drive effective July 2, 2012. The relocation of offices will not affect educational programming and summer scheduled programs will continue to be strong and active in the three county Unit."
The offices located at 621 South Belt West, Belleville and 900 Hillsboro Ave, Edwardsville, relocated to the new Collinsville location. New office contact information is: telephone 618-344-4230; fax 618-344-5602. The website remains the same at web.extension.illinois.edu/mms
University of Illinois Extension provides educational programming to a wide variety of youth and adult audiences. Through local partnerships and connections to the vast resources of the University of Illinois, local Extension staff work with individuals and groups in communities to help them make their lives better, healthier, safer and more profitable.
Through 4-H Youth Development programs, young people are developing life skills in leadership, citizenship, public speaking, community service, and many project education subjects. These youth live in cities, suburbs and rural areas, where they participate in clubs, special interest groups, camps and school enrichment programs. Jacobs' invites families to investigate the 4-H Youth Development program opportunities by contacting the Extension Office. Clubs and groups welcome new members!
The Master Gardener program and Master Naturalist program are two other active opportunities. The well trained volunteers in the two program areas are involved in teaching seminars, answering home horticulture & natural resource questions, providing leadership to community gardens, working with state and local agencies on environmental projects, coordinating annual Garden Tours and much more.
"Educational programming takes the form of workshops, seminars, club meetings, email correspondence, teleconferences, web site information, facebook page, printed material and individual personal support", states Jacobs.
Jacobs expresses, "Thanks from the Madison-Monroe-St. Clair Unit staff for the support and involvement as we continue to work together "To Make The Best Better". Remember we are only a phone call or email away".
University of Illinois Extension provides equal opportunities in program and employment.
