The ABC's of Community Gardens Workshops

University of Illinois Extension is offering a series of classes on community gardens that will provide resources and hands-on activities to help your community garden grow, or just get started. Beginning and experienced gardeners are welcome to attend.

Upcoming classes are:

  • March 11 – Cool Season Vegetables and Youth Engagement
  • April 29 – Warm Season Vegetables and Composting
  • May 20 – Tour Local GardensThese classes will be taught by University of Illinois Extension Horticulture Educator, Elizabeth Wahle. She will bring her wealth of knowledge about fruits and vegetables to these sessions to assist community volunteers who are either planning a community garden or those who would like further assistance as they continue a developed project.Cost for each session is $10 and will be held from 9:00 a.m. – noon at the University of Illinois Extension office located at 1 Regency Plaza Drive in Collinsville.
