Speakers set for 32nd annual NWIARDC Field Day!


The program has been set for the 2013 University of Illinois' Northwestern Illinois Agricultural Research and Demonstration Center (NWIARDC) field day! The 32nd annual field day will begin at 8 am on Wednesday, July 17th at the NWIARDC, which is located 1 mile North and 4 miles West of Monmouth at 210th Avenue.

Buses will carry members of the public to different stops in the research center where specialists from the University of Illinois' Department of Crop Sciences or Extension personnel will present their most current field crops research. This year's program will include the following speakers and topics: Dr. Emerson Nafziger, Agronomist, "Does Changing Crop Rotations Make Sense?"; Dr. Carl Bradley, Plant Pathologist, will discuss his latest foliar fungicide research; Dr. Mike Gray, Entomologist, "Western Corn Rootworm Resistance to Bt: A Growing Threat?"; Dr. Aaron Hager, Weed Scientist, will discuss the most current weed threats to crop production; and Dr. Angie Peltier, Extension Educator, will speak about recently established cover crops research trials.

Continuing education units for Certified Crop Advisors will be applied for.
