Below are displayed the Northwestern Illinois Agricultural Research and Demonstration Center's monthly weather summaries for May, June and July, 2013.

 

Precipitation

April and May both had above average precipitation, while June and July had below average precipitation (Table).

 

Temperatures

While people attending the 32nd annual NWIARDC Field Day on July 17th experienced a heat index close to 100 degrees, the average high temperatures in both June and July were 2 degrees below the 30-year average.

Temperatures have large implications for crop growth and development.
