Richard Hentschel discusses why proper placement of you fruit trees in the home landscape is so important for the long term success of the home orchard. Fruit trees need all day sun and a soil that drains well. Air drainage is critical to avoid late spring frosts that kill the flower buds. Winter protection is important for the first year or two as well.
