The Milan Optimists and Rock Island County 4-H are offering a free Youth Safety Day on Saturday, April 10 from 9 am – Noon at the University of Illinois Extension, 321 West 2nd Ave., Milan. IL. There will be 490 free youth bicycle helmets distributed. Children and families are invited to the free event where they will have the chance to learn about bicycle safety, pet safety, fire safety, food safety, and get a Child ID Cards.

Hands-on fun and learning for youth await at 4-H YOUniversity! Our classes and camps are open to all youth, not just 4-H members - check out the Monday and Wednesday night classes and Super Saturday project days here!

Get a Green Thumb with Extension gardening classes and programs! From the winter telenets, Thursday horticulture brown bag lunch and learn, Spring series, Master Composting and the Homegrown Challenge Vegetable Bootcamp - we have something for everyone!

Are you looking for something for your child do this summer that's fun, educational, and easy on the wallet? Then look no further than Moline Parks & Recreation Summer Camp. Through a partnership with the University of Illinois Extension, we are pleased to offer a summer experience that your child is sure to enjoy!

Join the Rock Island County Master Gardeners on a fabulous bus trip to the historic Pella, Iowa on Thursday, May 6, 2010 to enjoy the Tulip Festival.

Canning Jar Drive - Donate your used canning jars - especially pint and quart sized - to Extension. Save the landfill and put them to good use in our food preserver programs benefitting your community! 4-H has a lot of great clubs especially designed for youth in special interest areas. Clubs include Scrapbooking, Animal Discoveries, Babysitting, 4-H in the City, Horse Bowl, Handybuds for Special Needs, Hola 4-H Spanish speaking club and more!

Beyond ESL: New program aimed at English as a Second Language individuals to help them integrate into our local community, begins March 5.

Hola 4-H is a new Spanish-speaking 4-H club for youth ages 5-12 that meets weekly on Fridays at 5:30 p.m.

Hispanic Teen Leaders is for Spanish-speaking teens ages 13 - 18 who want to improve their leadership skills.
