National Instructor Training

2013-2014 National 4-H Shooting Sports Instructor Workshop

National 4-H Shooting Sports provides expanded trainings for the various disciplines that are offered in the 4-H Shooting Sports Program. These trainings allow all State 4-H Shooting Sports programs the opportunity to send their state delegates to be trained so that they may return and lead/instruct their respective State Certification Trainings. There is no set number of trainings or locations as to where they are annually held. The number of trainings that are offered are dependent on how many states offer to host them. Currently there are no trainings being offered for the spring of 2015 and information is not yet available for any future national trainings.

To be eligible to attend a training an adult, 21 and older, must have completed one of the Illinois' State Certification trainings in archery, coordinator, hunting, wildlife and outdoor skills, rifle and/or shotgun.. The State Coordinator and selected committee will decide upon those candidates who would attend a National Training. Upon completion of successfully completing a National Training the instructor will then be expected to assist in the Illinois State Certification Trainings, typically held in the Spring and Fall of each year.
