URBANA, Ill. – Producers will have the opportunity to attend a beef cattle meeting at Illinois Valley Community College at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
University of Illinois Commercial Beef Educator Travis Meteer will address feeding poor quality hay and share results from some of the most recent U of I research trials.
Local veterinarian Buzz Iliff, DVM, of Wyoming Veterinary Service, will speak about the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) and calving season tips.
Justin Adcock, Mix 30, will discuss supplementing cows during the breeding season.
Paul Peterson, U of I professor of finance, will share factors influencing the cattle market and his thoughts on what is to come in 2016.
“These timely topics have the ability to influence dollars in the pocket of beef producers,” Meteer said.
Join fellow cattlemen in Oglesby on Feb. 3 for an evening “talking cows” with Meteer and industry experts. The cost of the meeting is $10, payable at the door.
Pre-registration is suggested by contacting Travis Meteer at 217-430-7030 or email@example.com by Jan. 26. Meeting details are available at web.extension.illinois.edu/oardc.
