Melinda States is a youth development educator with University of Illinois Extension. She holds a master's degree in Extension education from University of Illinois. Her bachelor's degree is in agricultural science from Western Illinois University.

States specializes in 4-H programming for youth and volunteer leaders, curriculum development and youth agency coalition building.

She is a member of the National Association of Extension 4-H Agents, the Illinois Association of Extension Professionals - Youth, and Epsilon Sigma Phi. She also takes an active role in the Southern Illinois 4-H Camp Association.
