George Czapar received a bachelor of science in agronomy and a masters of science in weed science from the University of Illinois, and a Ph.D. in weed science from Iowa State University.
Dr. Czapar is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the crop sciences department. He teaches and advises graduate students in the off-campus graduate studies program.
In addition to his duties as Extension educator, Integrated Pest Management, Czapar also serves as the technical advisor for the Illinois Council on Best Management Practices (C-BMP)- http://www.cbmp.uiuc.edu/
He also serves as leader for the Strategic Research Initiative (SRI) in Water Quality. Their goals are (1) to help develop the scientific basis for nutrient standards in the surface waters of Illinois; and (2) to assist in the appropriate development and implementation of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs). This research is funded by the State of Illinois through the Illinois Council on Food and Agricultural Research (C-FAR)- http://www.ilcfar.org/
