Brenda Derrick is an Extension SNAP-Ed Educator for the University of Illinois Extension. As part of the statewide SNAP-Ed leadership team she provides curriculum development, evaluation, grants management & compliance, and staff training to SNAP-Ed program staff in 29 counties in the western part of the state. 

A registered dietitian, her professional background includes previously serving as the Extension Nutrition & Wellness Educator in Adams and Brown County for 11 years. She came to Extension with extensive public health experience including nutrition education, health promotion and wellness, data management, maternal and child health, lead-poisoning prevention, and health behavior research.

Brenda  earned a bachelor of science degree in food and nutrition from Northeast Missouri State University (now known as Truman State University), and holds a master of science degree in human nutrition, foods and food systems management from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
