Beth LaPlante provides leadership in developing, marketing and evaluating programming for University of Illinois Extension in the Grundy-Kankakee-Will Unit. In this role, she is responsible for networking and building relationships in the communities, as well as, management of fiscal, staff, volunteers and facilities.
Beth joined the Extension family as Unit Assistant, Youth & Family in 1993 in Kankakee County. In 1999, she became an Extension Unit Educator, Youth & Family. She then accepted the position of Kankakee County Director in 2003. In November 2010, Beth was hired as the County Director for the newly formed Grundy-Kankakee-Will Unit.
Beth is a graduate of the Graham Hospital School of Nursing, Canton, Illinois. She received a bachelor's degree in health education from Western Illinois University and masters of education from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana.
Before coming to Extension, Beth worked in a variety of health care positions including health educator for the Grundy County Health Department. She currently serves on the Kankakee County Illinois Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer Program Advisory Committee, Northern Illinois 4-H Camp Association Board for Camp Shaw-Waw-Nas-See, and is President of the Bradley-Bourbonnais Rotary.
