School Garden Workshop

October 16 - May 14, 2018

The University of Illinois Extension is hosting nine sessions on how to have a successful school garden using students, parents, community members and staff. The workshops are FREE and available to anyone! The workshops will be held at the Jackson County Extension Office, 402 Ava Road, Murphysboro, IL from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. You will have the opportunity to learn about grant writing, how to plan your school garden, involve the community and more!   • November 27 - Site Selection/Engaging Parents and Community Members

  • February 12 - What to Grow, The Process and Food Safety
  • March 5 - Theme Gardens/Pollinators
  • April 9 - Nutrition and Proper Storing of Vegetables/Harvest Handling
  • May 14 - Garden Maintenance and Wrap Up
