Please register by Friday, January 26 by calling 217-826-5422 or online here.  Cost is $5.00 per person for a light dinner and the program, payable at the door.

Registration begins at 5:45 and the meal will be served from 6:00 – 6:45.  The program will begin at 6:45

Speaker:  N Dennis Bowman  Extension Educator, Commercial Agriculture  

As the recent recipient of the Individual Excellence in Extension Award, Dennis exemplifies excellence in leadership in his 36+ years with Extension.  Dennis is the Crop Systems Educator attached to the Crop Sciences Research and Education Center, better known as the South Farms.  Dennis grew up on a small grain and livestock farm in Carlinville, IL.  He’s been employed with the University of Illinois Extension since 1981, serving in various capacities as an Ag Adviser.  Since 1992, he has worked out of the regional Extension Centers in Decatur and Champaign and is responsible for crop production programming and support in East Central Illinois.  Dennis of often the first call for most things agriculture for many central Illinois media (television, radio and print) outlets.

 

Dennis will be moving our eyes upward as he speaks to us about the use of drones in farming and downward as he explains how to manage nutrient loss in our soils.
