2018 Garden Day Workshop and Spring Festival

Are you ready for spring? The University of Illinois Extension Garden Day Workshop and Spring Festival is coming up soon! For over a decade, local gardeners have celebrated the arrival of spring by attending this yearly event.

 Master Gardeners are partnering with Danville Area Community College  Saturday, March 10, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., at the DACC Bremer Conference Center in Danville, IL. The doors open at 8 a.m. 

Your $25 admission includes 3 speakers, lunch prepared by the DACC Culinary Arts School and a bag full of goodies.

There will also be door prizes for ticket holders

Shane Cultra- What’s New in the 2018 Flower Garden? 

Keynote Speaker: Kelsay Shaw – How to Landscape Using Native Plants -Gardeners have heard they are easier to care for and better for the environment but how do you create a striking landscape with Native Plants? 

Don't want to commit to a full day or tickets are sold out? No problem!

The Spring Festival is open to the public from 8-4 at no charge with garden themed vendors, raffle items and a silent auction. 

Vendors are featuring everything plant lovers enjoy: hand crafted wrought iron garden art, herbal bath salts and lotions, Schuren Nursery succulents, Possibility Place Nursery Native Plants, Walts Acres Raised Beds, International Greenhouse Supply and many others.

The silent auction includes 12 yards of compost, elevated cedar planter perfect for growing herbs, wine tasting, basket full of garden items from Sunrise Nursery, gift certificates to garden centers, leaf casts and more.

There is also a raffle room with over 50 baskets with themes like Plants for Bees, coffee, herbs etc.

Garden Day Festival is a great way to shake off the winter doldrums and get inspiration for this year’s garden.
