Asparagus can be a great, early-season vegetable to add to your farm and if well maintained it can be productive for many years. To learn more about this crop, please join us on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Jackson County Extension office in Murphysboro for the Asparagus Production Twilight Meeting. Extension Educator, Nathan Johanning, will explain asparagus production from planting and establishment all the way through marketing, while sharing his experiences and findings of the asparagus variety trial established at the office in 2014.  We will be touring the trial, and this is a great chance to see all 12 of the varieties during the peak of the harvest season.
