Very few gardens escape attack from some type of insect. Most insects can be controlled by the use of insecticides and cultural practices. Destroy insect breeding places, such as weeds, crop wastes, and neglected fence rows. Rotate crops so that you don't plant the same type of vegetable in the same location the following year.
If you encounter insect problems on your plants, check with your local extension office garden center for proper identification of the pest and the proper remedy.
