Cheese-A-Roni Bake

1 jar (24 oz.) meatless spaghetti sauce
1/3 cup water
6 oz. fat-free cottage cheese
1 egg (or 2 egg whites), lightly beaten
1/2 tsp. oregano
1 cup uncooked macaroni noodles
4 oz. low-fat shredded mozzarella cheese
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine spaghetti sauce and water.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg and oregano.
  4. Grease a 1 quart casserole dish.
  5. Spoon 1/3 of the spaghetti sauce onto bottom of dish.
  6. Top with ½ macaroni, ½ cottage cheese mixture, ½ mozzarella cheese and 1/3 spaghetti sauce.
  7. Repeat layers with remaining macaroni, cottage cheese mixture, sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil.
  9. Bake in oven for 45 minutes.
  10. Uncover dish and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
