Ingredients
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
4 cups apple**, cored, peeled, DICED
1/2 cup applesauce
2 med. apples**, cored, peeled and SLICED
    Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, mix sugar, oil, and eggs together. Beat well.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, combine flour, salt, cinnamon, and baking soda. Add to egg batter and mix well.
  4. Add diced apple chunks and applesauce to the batter. Stir to combine.
  5. Coat a 13x9 inch baking pan with vegetable oil spray and pour in batter. Place apple slices on top of cake batter.
  6. Bake until done, about 45-60 minutes.
Tips

* Adapted from recipe

 **For best results use a baking variety of apple like McIntosh, Granny Smith, Jonagold, or Braeburn
