Apple Cheese Bake

6 cups apples*, peeled and sliced
1 Tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 cup sugar, divided
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, melted
2/3 cup Romano cheese, grated
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Place apple slices in an 8" x 8" pan.
  3. Sprinkle apples with lemon juice and half of the sugar.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the remaining sugar with flour and cinnamon.
  5. Add melted butter and cheese to the flour mixture. Mix well.
  6. Sprinkle the flour-cheese mixture evenly over the apples.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until apples are soft.

 *For best results use a baking variety of apple like McIntosh, Granny Smith, Jonagold, or Braeburn
