1 lb. lean ground beef
4 Tbsp. shredded cheese
4 Tbsp. barbecue sauce
4 Tbsp. onion, chopped
4 whole grain hamburger buns
  1. Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions.
  2. Shape each portion into 1/4 inch thick patties.
  3. In center of 4 of the patties, place a tablespoon each of cheese, barbecue sauce and chopped onion.
  4. Place a plain patty on top of each seasoned patty. Press the edges together to seal the patties together.
  5. Grill or broil until ground beef is thoroughly cooked (160 degrees F).
  6. Serve on whole-grain bun.
