Eggs stop hatch

I had several eggs that started to pip and never hatched. They seemed to die in the egg after starting. This has been a very sad year for me and I am trying to figure out why. I took one plug out when the first started to hatch. Was that too early? How many wet sponges should there be? Maybe 3 was too many. This did not happen last year and I controlled the temperature and turned the eggs on schedule this year (right on)!

Diana,

I think you have done everything correct. Sorry your hatch was not good. Maybe a little too much humidity, but I don't think so. Needs to be moist for the chicks to hatch.
