Do you love horses and enjoy learning? Become a horse expert through 4-H Horse Bowl & Hippology. Horse ownership is not required. 4-H is a program of the University of Illinois Extension and is open to any youth between the ages of 8-18, as of September 1, 2017. In Horse Bowl & Hippology there is a junior team consisting of members age 8-13 and a senior team consisting of members ages 14-18. 4-H Horse Bowl is a contest comprised of four-person teams who compete by answering questions in a quiz bowl format.  Hippology is an opportunity for youth to demonstrate the breadth of their knowledge and understanding of equine sciences and the practical application of this knowledge.

Interested youth will meet regularly to learn and study with their 4-H leader/coach in order to prepare for 4-H Regional and State competitions in the spring. Meetings are held every other Sunday from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. with the next meeting being January 21st at University of Illinois Extension, 850 Thompson St., Princeton, IL.
