Four Seasons Gardening Program Offers Winter Series

The Winter series of the University of Illinois Extension’s Four Seasons Gardening Program, which focuses on environmental stewardship, home gardening, and backyard food production, gets underway at the end of January. The public is invited to participate in this free webinar series. The first session of the series is titled “Succulent Wreaths.” Bright and textured succulent wreaths are living plant wreaths for any occasion. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Bruce Black, Horticulture Educator, will teach you about what succulents are, their biology, how to build your own wreath, and how to care for it.

This program will be offered via a live webinar on Tuesday, January 29th at 1:30 p.m. at the following University of Illinois Extension Offices: Bureau County in Princeton; Marshall-Putnam Counties in Henry; and LaSalle County in Ottawa. This webinar may also be viewed from wherever you have internet access by pre-registering at Recorded videos of these sessions can be viewed following the program at

      Other topics in the Winter series include “Making Your Own Flower Arrangement,” set for Tuesday, March 5th at 1:30 p.m., and “Pruning Deciduous Shrubs,” set for Tuesday, March 19th at 1:30 p.m.
