University of Illinois Extension is hosting the “2019 Ag Management Night”

UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS EXTENSION – Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam Unit

 

University of Illinois Extension - Bureau, LaSalle, Marshall, Putnam Unit invites farm owners, operators and those interested in farm leasing and the economic outlook, to hear from University of Illinois experts, Dr. Gary Schnitkey and Jonathan Coppess. All information is unbiased and research-based.

University of Illinois Extension is hosting the “2019 Ag Management Night” program on Wednesday, March 27, at the IVCC campus in Oglesby. Our program will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Room CTC 125. Advance registration is required by March 26 by calling 815-224-0889 or by registering online. The cost is $10. per person which can be paid online or at the door that evening. Dr. Gary Schnitkey, University of Illinois Extension Specialist, Farm Management, will cover ag leases, update trends and marketing opportunities. Crop-share, cash rent, and flexible leases; farm economic outlook and cost centers; price projections and returns to land; and farmland prices, will be discussed.

Jonathan Coppess, University of Illinois, Director, Gardner Agriculture Policy Program from the Department of Agriculture & Consumer Economics, will cover: update on (expected) 2018 Farm Bill and program revisions; crop insurance options that reflect 2019 pricing and risks; and current conservation programs that can benefit bottom line for the producer.
