- Illinois Ag in the Classroom 2017-2108 Grants-Due October 1st
Teachers are urged to apply for these (up to) $300 classroom grants to incorporate new and exciting agriculture related topics into their existing classrooms. Additionally, special book grants are available for teachers to easily incorporate lessons tied to the Common Core Learning Standards, into their existing Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum. “Our teacher grants are an added bonus for teachers looking to incorporate new and creative ideas into their classrooms during these financially challenging, school funding times,” said Kevin Daugherty, Education Director, Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom. Consider using the general teacher grant to apply for mini-greenhouses and grow lights or other resources to teach more about agriculture. The special book grants includes books ordered and shipped on topics such as Pollinators, Soil & Water, Wheat, and Dr. Seuss. The 2017-18 Teacher Grant Applications can be found at www.agintheclasroom.org, under Teacher Resources. Applications are due October 1st.
