Extension Host Babysitting Workshop in Carlinville

Macoupin County 4-H hosted a babysitting workshop on Thursday, June 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Macoupin County Extension office. The workshop was open to youth sixth grade or older.

Participants learned about basic first aid, ages & stages of development, healthy snack options, basic care, games and activities, safety, conflict management, and babysitting as a business. Babysitting is often the first job a young person will have, so teaching basic child care skills can help youth better handle the responsibility associated with caring for children, said Kate Harding, Macoupin County 4-H Program Coordinator.
