4-H Tractor Driving Contest at Macoupin County Fairgrounds

Macoupin County 4-H members had the opportunity to display their tractor driving skills at the 4-H Tractor Operator’s Contest held on Monday, June 6, at the Macoupin County Fairgrounds. 


The tractor driving contest consists of a written knowledge test about tractor safety and maintenance, parts identification test, and a driven course requiring the 4-H member to use their tractor operating skills.


Participants receiving 4-H blue ribbons were: Dylan Rosentreter of Carlinville, Theron Cole of Girard, Sam Wolff of Brighton, Jerod Brown of Gillespie, Anthony Joiner of Carlinville, and Kendall Knodle of Fillmore.


The contest consists of a junior division which is 10-13 years old, and a senior division which is 14 and older.  Winning the Top Junior Operator Trophy this year was Sam Wolff and Top Senior Operator Trophy went to Theron Cole. 


The 4-H trophies were sponsored by: Macoupin County Agricultural Antique Association and Sloan Implement, Carlinville. The tractor was on loan from Sievers Equipment of Carlinville. Veryl Reiher served as judge for this contest and Kody Brown served as show superintendent.
