Annie’s Project Education for Farm Women begins February 2

“Annie’s Project – Education for Farm Women” is being offered by University of Illinois Extension starting in February. The program looks to empower women in agriculture by holding discussion-based workshops that bring women together to learn from experts to help women develop their management and decision making skills in the dynamic, complex world of agriculture.

Dates of the six session series includes February 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, and 21 (with a snow date of February 23) with each session running from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Jersey County Farm Credit office, 27049 State Highway 16, Jerseyville.

Using several agriculture industry professionals as speakers, Annie’s Project will cover topics that include goal setting, business planning, family communications, keeping track of financial records, interpreting financial information, understanding insurance options (liability, health, life, long-term care, crop, etc.), land values and leases, retirement and estate planning, risk management, FSA & USDA programs, and much more.

The program offers plenty of time for questions, sharing, reacting, and connecting with your presenters and fellow participants. It’s a relaxed, fun and dynamic way to learn, grow, and meet other farm and ranch women. Registration is $40 and covers the course materials. Space is limited so those interested in attending are encouraged to register soon.
