An estimated 15% of the population faces food insecurity.  Obesity rates are rising, along with the prevalence of chronic diseases, especially among those with the least resources.  Businesses face a shortage of workers who are skilled in science, math, and engineering.  Many children are in need of social and emotional nurturing as problems such as bullying, anger management, and unhealthy relationships persist.

Extension reaches out to provide research driven education to everyone, at every phase of their life.  Whether you are seeking better health, better relationships or greater opportunity, Extension can help.

We bring together and extend University of Illinois Extension resources to the people of Cook County.
