Midterm Review in Naperville

Posted by Ron Wolford -

This Wednesday marked an important milestone in our internship program: Midterm Reviews! We traveled to Naperville to meet our internship program director, our advisor, and our mentor at the Naperville Extension Office, along with two more of our classmates who are based in St. Charles, Illinois. We began with an introduction and lunch, along with free ice cream in honor of National Ice Cream Month.

We presented our findings from the research we've been conducting this summer with the help of Cook County Master Gardeners. Our survey data gave good visuals for what Master Gardeners are thinking when going through training, and how they think the program could be improved. We will present some of these potential improvements at our final presentation at the end of the month, and we hope University of Illinois Extension will be able to use our survey and interview results for the benefit of the program.

We were also able to present some information and pictures from the garden sites we have visited this summer, showcased in these blog posts! At this point, we would like to thank those who have helped us do what we have done so far this summer. Without the help of the UIUC College of ACES Research Internship Program, University of Illinois Extension, and the Master Gardener Program, we would just be two lost girls in Chicago. Thanks for reading, and stay posted!
