Volunteer for Plants at Play Day

Posted by Ron Wolford -

Hello Friends,

We still need a few more volunteers for the Plants at Play day this coming Saturday June 9th. If you can make it please let me know.

Thanks so much,

NEEDED: VOLUNTEER FAMILY ACTIVITY FACILITATORS for PLANTS @ PLAY: A Special Family Event in the City Garden of the Garfield Park Conservatory

What: A hands-on activity station event highlighting the fun and imaginative aspects of plants.

Where: In the City Garden Lawn and Blue Stone Terrace

When: Saturday, June 9th, between noon and 3 p.m.

What we need from you: We will station four to five activity areas in the back City Garden, and are in need of volunteers to help facilitate these stations when families drop in to participate. (Potential stations include making leaf kites, leaf crowns, helping visitors walk on coconut romper stompers, and more!)

Volunteer Check-In Area: Please check in at the volunteer station on the blue stone terrace (located straight outside the Desert House doors.) (This station will be staffed all day, so you can leave your belongings here. Park in the visitors parking lot, and explain to the front desk people you are here to volunteer, then proceed to the back city garden area.)

Volunteer Check-In Time: Please check in @ 11:00 a.m., so we have time to explain your activity post to you. We would love it if you could stay till 3:30 pm, but let us know if you have to leave early.

What Volunteers Should Wear: Something weather appropriate- though we will be stationing shade umbrellas throughout our stations, you may need to wear sunscreen. We will make sure you have plenty of water.

How to Sign Up: Email Harmonyat or call1-773-638-1766 x 24 and let her know you would like to sign up. We will explain your post to you on the day of the event, as there will not be a training for this particular event.
