Master Gardeners Needed at Fenger High School

Master Gardeners are needed to assist with the After School Matters Horticulture program at Fenger High School.

University of Illinois Extension Academic Hourly Latoya Washington is working with twelve students at the school every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. through the end of May.

Projects include planting the vegetable garden, maintaining a perennial garden on the west side of the school and designing and planting a new flower bed in front of the school. The students will also be planting earthboxes. The school has a small greenhouse.

Come and share your horticulture knowledge with these young, enthusiastic high school students.

When: Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until June 1.

Where: Fenger High School-11220 South Wallace Street

Time: 3 p.m.- 6 p.m.
