Incubation Troubleshooting
"Runts" in the growing birds (usually detected by three to four weeks of age or older).
Probable Cause | Suggested Corrective Measure |
Poor egg quality involving excessive shell contamination,
usually floor eggs or cracked eggs.
|
Set only clean, uncracked eggs. Check hatcher
sanitation procedures. Make sure hatcher and hatch trays have been
thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and fumigated after each hatch.
|
Poor hatchery sanitation, particularly during
hatching.
|
Follow all approved hatchery sanitation techniques. Make sure contamination does not build up. Do not recirculate foul air. |
