Week of May 7, 2012 in my Garden

I marvel at the beauty around me as I walk around my yard this week to take these pictures. So much is happening in the garden. Some highlishts for me this week include:
-Poppies are starting to bloom. I LOVE poppies!!! This one is pink.
-Hummingbird moths feed on our honeysuckle vines each evening. Fragrance from the vines is almost intoxicating as I swing and watch the moths flit from flower to flower.
-Yellow flag is blooming in our water garden.
-Pool garden will soon have bananas.
-Spirea by pool are a brilliant purple.
-Perennial bed is lush and alive!
-Peony is just starting to bloom in perennial garden.
-Climbing rose is loaded with fragrant blooms this year, and as an added bonus, there is a nest of baby cardinals tucked in the branches.
-Spirea are blooming all over the yard.
-Lots of pods on the front redbud trees.
