Does the Imposter Grow?

potato

To test your theory about the potato tuber's ability to grow, we need to cut it into sections or small pieces. Some pieces should be cut to have potato eyes in them. Others will be smooth sections of potatoes containing no eyes. Now plant each section in a pot containing soil. Water well and place in a sunny location. In a few days see what changes have happened. Chart the growth of all the sections. Did they all grow? Why or why not?

Name some other tubers that are imposter bulbs.

Once you've finished, go on to learn how to grow a sweet potato vine.
